16 He will bring back many of the people of Israel to the Lord their God. 17And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
MARK 1:2-3
2 as it is written in Isaiah the prophet: “I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way”[a]—3 “a voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’”

DEVOTIONAL
Before Jesus began His ministry, John the Baptist prepared the way. He cleared the path, called people to repent, and helped hearts get ready for the Savior. Advent is our invitation to do the same. Prepare the way. Make room. Clear out what clutters your heart. Turn away from what steals your peace. It doesn’t have to be dramatic. Just honest. Preparing the way simply means making space for Jesus to move.
REFLECT
What is one thing you need to release this season?
PRAYER
Lord, help me clear out anything that distracts from You. Make room in my heart. Amen.
PRACTICE
Spend five quiet minutes journaling anything you need to surrender.
