WEEK 4 - DAY 1
LOVE: THE ANGEL’S CANDLE
DEVOTIONAL
The final week of Advent brings us to the Angel’s Candle, the candle of Love. The angels filled the sky with the announcement of Jesus’ birth because love had stepped into the world. Not a distant or conditional love, but a love that comes close and transforms everything it touches.
Love is the heartbeat of the Christmas story. Jesus came because of love. He came to heal, to restore, to save, to draw near, to be with us. The God of the universe chose to wrap Himself in human flesh and enter our world as a child. That is love.
This candle invites us to reflect not only on God’s love for us, but on how we show love to others. Advent love is practical. It looks like forgiveness, compassion, patience, generosity, kindness, and presence.
This week, God invites you to soften your heart. To notice the people around you. To love intentionally. To open yourself to the deep truth that you are fully, completely loved by God.
If your home is full, let your conversations be shaped by love. If you live alone, let the nearness of Christ remind you that you are never forgotten, never overlooked, never unloved.
As we prepare for Christmas, let this candle remind you that love is why Jesus came - and love is what He still invites us to live.
