WEEK 2: SEEK GOD FIRST IN YOUR HABITS
DAY 9
PRAYER FOCUS: Practicing Simplicity in a Noisy World
“In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:6
Simplicity is a spiritual habit that helps you remove what distracts you so you can focus on what matters. It doesn’t mean living with less - it means living with clarity. Simplicity creates space for God’s presence to settle your heart.
Most of us carry far more than we need: commitments that drain us, digital noise that distracts us, and mental clutter that keeps us from noticing God. When life becomes too full, your soul becomes too crowded. Simplicity invites margin back into your life - margin to think, margin to pray, margin to breathe.
Submitting “all your ways” to God includes your schedule, your decisions, your attention, your digital habits, and your desires. When you simplify these areas, your inner world becomes more aligned with God’s guidance.
Start small. Remove one thing that is stealing peace or clarity. Over time, simplicity opens space for deeper presence and quieter inner chaos.
PRACTICE:
Identify one unnecessary thing - digital, emotional, or schedule-related - and intentionally remove it for today.
PRAYER:
Lord, reveal the places in my life that have become crowded and distracted. Help me simplify what does not belong so I can make room for what truly matters. Teach me to say no when I should, to release what drains me, and to build space in my life for Your presence. Straighten my path by simplifying my steps. Bring clarity where things have felt chaotic. Form a quieter, calmer way of living in me. Amen.
REFLECTION:
What area of my life feels the most cluttered - and what is one step toward making it simpler?
