WEEK 1: SEEK GOD FIRST IN YOUR HEART

DAY 2

PRAYER FOCUS: Becoming Still Before God

“Be still, and know that I am God.” - Psalm 46:10

Stillness is not natural in our culture. Everything moves fast. Everything demands attention. Yet spiritual clarity rarely comes through speed. It comes through slowing down. When you practice stillness, you’re learning to stop living from a rushed mind and start living from a settled one.

Stillness doesn’t remove problems, but it does shift your posture. It reminds your soul that God is God and you are not. It interrupts the cycle of hurry that blinds you to what’s happening inside you. In stillness, you notice emotions you’ve buried. You feel the tension you’ve ignored. And you finally have space to breathe again.

You don’t need to master silence. You only need to practice it. A little bit of quiet, consistently, has the power to reset the entire direction of your inner life. Over time, you’ll begin to sense God more quickly because your soul has learned how to slow down long enough to listen.

PRACTICE:
Sit silently for two minutes. Breathe naturally. Let your shoulders drop. Notice God’s presence.

PRAYER:
Lord, slow me down. I am often moving faster on the inside than I appear on the outside. Quiet the noise that fills my mind and keeps me from hearing You clearly. Release me from the need to rush. Help me recognize Your presence in these simple moments. Teach me to find clarity in silence and steadiness in being still. Form a new rhythm in me - one that begins with quiet awareness instead of pressure and hurry. Amen.

REFLECTION:
What am I currently rushing through in life that needs to slow down?
