WEEK 3: SEEK GOD FIRST IN YOUR PURPOSE
DAY 19
PRAYER FOCUS: Finding Strength in God, Not Self
“Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength…” — Isaiah 40:31
Self-reliance wears you down. God-reliance renews you. When you lean on your own strength, you eventually reach the end of it. But when you place your hope in God, you tap into a strength that does not run out.
This verse isn’t about trying harder - it’s about shifting the source of your strength. Renewed strength comes from resting in God’s stability, not your own capability. It comes from surrender, not striving. From trust, not tension.
God renews strength in the quiet places. When you slow your pace. When you ask for help. When you acknowledge your limits and turn toward Him. Hope is a spiritual practice, and as you practice it, your strength is renewed layer by layer.
PRACTICE:
Take five slow breaths. With each exhale, say: “God, be my strength today.”
PRAYER:
Lord, I need Your strength. I am limited, but You are not. Renew the parts of me that feel tired, discouraged, or overwhelmed. Lift my spirit where it feels weak. Remind me that I don’t have to hold everything together. Strengthen my mind, my emotions, and my resolve. Make me steady in Your presence. Teach me to rely on You more than myself. Amen.
REFLECTION:
Where am I leaning on my own strength instead of God’s?
