DEVOTIONAL GUIDE

WEEK 3: SEEK GOD FIRST IN YOUR PURPOSE

DAY 17

PRAYER FOCUS: Becoming a Person of Generosity

“God loves a cheerful giver.” — 2 Corinthians 9:7

Generosity is not about the amount you give - it’s about the kind of person you’re becoming. A generous heart reflects God’s heart. When you give freely - time, compassion, resources, encouragement - your soul expands. Fear loosens. Gratitude grows. Your priorities realign. Generosity reorients your heart toward abundance rather than scarcity. It shifts your focus from what you lack to what you have. It trains your mind to see opportunities instead of limitations. And it builds spiritual freedom, because your hands stay open instead of clenched.

You don’t become generous overnight. You become generous through consistent small acts of giving. Through choosing joy in generosity rather than obligation. Through trusting God as your provider, not your paycheck, schedule, or resources.

PRACTICE:
Give something today - money, time, help, encouragement, or prayer.

PRAYER:
Lord, form generosity in me. Remove the fear that makes me hold tightly to what I have. Show me the joy of giving and the freedom of living with open hands. Teach me to trust You as my source and provider. Help me see opportunities to bless others. Make generosity not just an action I do but a part of who I am - a reflection of Your character in my everyday life. Amen.

REFLECTION:
What holds me back from living generously?
