21 DAYS OF PRAYER

DEVOTIONAL GUIDE

WEEK 2: SEEK GOD FIRST IN YOUR HABITS

DAY 13

PRAYER FOCUS: Obedience in the Small Things

“If you love me, keep my commands.” — John 14:15

Obedience is not dramatic. It is often quiet and simple - the internal yes to God’s direction before anything happens externally. Most spiritual growth happens through small, daily acts of obedience. These decisions slowly shape your character and make your heart responsive.

God rarely asks you to leap. He asks you to step. Small steps build sensitivity to His voice. Small “yeses” prepare you for bigger ones. Obedience is less about performance and more about alignment. It positions you to walk in God’s timing and wisdom instead of your own impulses.

If you wait to obey until you feel ready, you’ll delay God’s work in your life. But when you obey quickly and simply, transformation happens from the inside out.

PRACTICE:
Ask God, “What small step are You asking me to take today?” Write it down and act on it.

PRAYER:
Lord, shape my heart to respond to Your voice. Help me obey even when the step feels small or uncertain. Give me discernment to know what You’re asking of me and courage to follow through. Remove hesitation, fear, or doubt that slows my obedience. Align my actions with Your wisdom. Form a heart in me that says yes quickly, consistently, and joyfully. Amen.

REFLECTION:
What small act of obedience is God inviting me into right now?
