21 DAYS OF PRAYER

DEVOTIONAL GUIDE

WEEK 2: SEEK GOD FIRST IN YOUR HABITS

DAY 10

PRAYER FOCUS: Embracing Rest as a Rhythm of the Spirit

“My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” — Exodus 33:14

Rest is more than a day off - it’s a spiritual posture. God uses rest to restore what hurry and pressure wear down. When you intentionally create space for rest, you’re practicing trust. You’re acknowledging that God sustains your life, not your pace.

Sabbath is not inactivity; it’s intentional renewal. It’s the moment where you stop producing and start receiving. You pause your tasks, your striving, your need to manage everything - and you let God refresh you.

Rest doesn’t have to be a full day. It can be an hour, an afternoon, or a moment. The key is intention. When you choose rest, you are choosing to step into a rhythm that is ancient, biblical, and deeply needed.

Rest resets your clarity. Rest restores your emotions. Rest helps your soul catch up to your life. And more importantly, rest returns you to God as your source.

PRACTICE:
Choose one hour this week to practice intentional rest - no phone, no tasks, no pressure. Just breathe and be.

PRAYER:
God, teach me how to rest in a way that restores my soul. Calm the parts of me that resist slowing down. Remove the guilt that rises when I stop working. Help me trust that You provide, sustain, and hold everything together. Let Your rest reshape my pace so I can walk with You instead of running ahead. Remind me that rest is holy and necessary. Renew me from the inside out. Amen.

REFLECTION:
What does real rest look like for me - and how can I make space for it?
