So, What If?

What if we could start a church that brings together a diversity of people who find themselves at home in a welcoming and authentic community of faith?
What if we could start a church where people share meals, laughter, tears, and life… where people love God and each other?
What if we could start a church that proclaims the gospel in word and deed, a generous church that serves the needs of our communities, displaying the love of God in tangible ways?
What if we could start an inspirational, life-giving church that releases people into their God-given dreams and callings, a church that equips people to do God’s work?
What if we could start a church filled with the presence of God as we gather together in worship, a church where people can find healing, freedom, hope, and experience God’s grace?
What if we could start a church that has contemporary, passionate worship but that is rooted in tradition? A church that speaks to the questions of the day yet finds its answers in the timeless faith of the scriptures?
We desire to be more than a new church; we want to be a movement to bless our region and to embody God’s grace that has broken into the world through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus!

Love God

Following Jesus is about more than worshipping on Sunday mornings; it’s about how we live.
Our goal is to make disciples… people who love God with all of their heart, soul, mind, and strength. We’ve experienced God’s grace, and it left its mark on us. We can’t help but lead others to experience the grace God has so freely shared with us.
So we teach the word of God, we cultivate an atmosphere for the presence of the Holy Spirit in our services, we share at the table of communion together, and then we take God’s presence with us to our schools, work places, local coffee shops…wherever we go.

Grow Together

Jesus has called us to live as part of his body and family. To be a Christian is to be in community. And just like any adopted family, we embrace diversity and accept people for who they are.
We bring people together on the basis of what we share — God’s love — and what we have in common is greater than anything that separates us. We embrace people from many walks of life, creating a place where people can gather around the table to share the gospel, life, a meal, needs, prayers, and experience true community.

Serve Others

With salvation comes an invitation to join God in his work of redemption. We believe that through the work of Christ, God is making all things new; we are called to be a living picture of this redemptive work by our sacrificial service, generosity, love of our neighbors, and proclamation of the gospel.
We want to join the story of God’s redemptive work in our community…to see the Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
Redemption Community Church exists to help people find new life in Jesus Christ and follow him completely.

Creating Culture

We want to create a culture that can be described as life-giving, passionate, authentic, diverse, creative, inspirational, healing, and relevant.

A culture that values …

To be a Christian is to be in a family of loving, reconciled believers. We value unity, celebrate diversity, and generously share our lives.

We want to be a church that releases people in to their God-given calling and giftings; we value empowering people to do God’s work.

We understand that we don’t just live in a city; we are sent to our city. We exist for each other and for those who are not yet here. We are called to serve, and people are our priority.

We don’t pretend to have it all together; we humbly offer to others the saving grace that God offers to us. We meet people where they are and invite them to belong on their journey to believe.

God’s people are marked by his Spirit…in corporate gatherings and in everyday life. We passionately pursue God’s presence in worship and carry it with us wherever we go.

We want to cultivate an atmosphere of abundant life…to create a place where people encounter the good news of Jesus and are healed, inspired, encouraged, and set free.

What We Believe

Our beliefs can be described as…
Orthodox in that we affirm the historic declarations of the Christian faith as embodied in the Apostles’ Creed and Nicene Creed.
Evangelical in that we believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, salvation is the gift of God through faith in Jesus Christ, and our response to the Gospel should produce a life of holiness and personal witness to our faith.
Spirit-filled in that we embrace the continuing presence and work of the Holy Spirit in our lives and gatherings.

Redemption Community Church Statement of Beliefs

“In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, in all things charity.”– Rupertus Meldenius, 17th century theologian

The Bible

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the infallible, authoritative Word of God (1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17).

The Trinity

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; Ephesians 4:4-6).

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory (Matthew 1:23; John 1:1-4 and 1:29; Acts 1:11 and 2:22-24; Romans 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-4 and 4:15).

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration of the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential (Luke 24:46-47; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23; 2 Corinthians 5:10-11; Ephesians 1:7 and 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7).

We believe salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-10).

Holy Spirit

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (John 3:5-8; Acts 1:8 and 4:31; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Galatians 5:16-18; Ephesians 6:12; Colossians 2:6-10).

We believe in two sacraments of the Church; 1. Water Baptism. 2. Holy Communion (Matthew 26:26-30; Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:34-39; 19:1-6; I Corinthians 11:23-30).

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12, 27; Ephesians 1:22-23).

Return of Christ

We believe in the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ, the consummation of the Kingdom of God, and the renewal of all things (Matthew 19:28; 24:42-44; Acts 1:11; 3:19-21; Colossians 1:19-20; 2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 11:15; Revelation 21:1-5).

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation (1 Corinthians 15:51-57; Revelation 20:11-15).
